The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is urging drivers to ensure they have key documents on hand in the case of an emergency. In the UK, it is a legal requirement for all vehicles to display a number plate.

If you don't have a number plate, or if its not displayed correctly, you could be fined as much as £1,000 and you car could fail its MOT test. To help avoid this, you may need to get a number plate made up.

But it's not as simple as handing over your money and getting a new plate. Government guidance highlights that you may need to get a number plate made up for a number of reasons, including if its been damaged, lost, or stolen.
