Science and singing sync for the opening of the St. Louis Chamber Chorus’ 70th season, “Science: From Leonardo Da Vinci to Albert Einstein,” a concert featuring choral music connected by themes of innovation and technology, on Oct. 5.
The concert, which will be held at the Third Baptist Church in Grand Center, features selections that represent maestro Philip Barnes’ passion for presenting works that cover the breadth of the history of choral music.
“With programming, I looked at music that was rooted in discovery and science,” he says. “I was pleasantly surprised by how much I found that fit together. I wanted selections that stimulated the imagination and were not just another set of pieces.”
