AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - The Amarillo Area Office of Emergency Management announced it will join multiple agencies in conducting a planned emergency management exercise Wednesday at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport.
"This is only a drill - not an actual emergency," said the Amarillo OEM announcement, "You may notice emergency vehicles and activity around the airport as part of the exercise."
"These exercises are an important way to test and strengthen our readiness to respond in the event of a real emergency. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to keep our community safe," the announcement continued.
The Amarillo OEM works to identify hazards and reduce community risks as well as help coordinate emergency preparedness, response and recovery operations
