PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Summer heat and haze remains as easterly winds fade across the Pacific Northwest.
Temperatures remain nearly 10 degrees above average Wednesday as Willamette Valley thermometers warm into the mid-80s. Winds will start to come out of the northwest, helping to shut off the warming downslope conditions. Gusts aren't expected to climb higher than 25 mph across the Portland/Vancouver area.
Air quality will slowly improve Wednesday as an onshore flow returns to the region. The more westerly flow will increase clouds slightly across western Oregon and southwest Washington Thursday. The cloudier and cooler conditions come with improved air quality.
