CLEVELAND, Ohio — Northeast Ohio’s first real taste of fall weather came with something we haven’t seen much of in September — rainfall.

For the first day of fall on Monday, 0.21 inches of rain fell at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, according to records from the National Weather Service. That came just one day after another 0.17 inches of rain was recorded at the airport.

This two-day span marked the first measurable rainfall of more than a trace amount since Sept. 4, when 0.23 inches fell.

By Monday, Hopkins had measured just 0.61 inches of rain for September — well below the 2.93 inches that’s typical by this point in what is typically the city’s wettest month of the year.
