The recent frosty drop in temperature across the UK has undoubtedly led many to consider cranking up their heating. The shift from iced coffee to hot, and vests to cosy hoodies, is a clear sign of the changing seasons , but the decision to turn on the heating in September or early October is often a careful consideration due to its impact on energy bills.

The Met Office has attempted to settle the ongoing debate, with some individuals holding out until November before even contemplating turning on the heat, while others confess to having activated their heating weeks ago. In a video captioned: "When is it OK to put the heating on? Are you ready now it's turned colder? Or is it still way too early?" the Met Office addressed the issue.
