The state pensioners having their payment bumped up to the "maximum" amount by the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) have been revealed.

Some state pensioners will see their payments TREBLED to £300 in the form of the Winter Fuel Payment. It comes as some other retirees will be handed just £100 from the DWP in the form of the Winter Fuel Allowance.

Winter Fuel Payments of £100 will be issued to eligible people resident in care homes while those aged between 66 and 79 will get £200 and pensioners aged 80 and over will receive the maximum amount of £300.
