A man and two dogs were injured after a pickup truck went over a guardrail and landed in the Matfield River in East Bridgewater early Wednesday morning, officials said.
East Bridgewater police and firefighters went to the area of Pleasant and North Central streets at around 3:55 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a crash, Fire Chief John Dzialo and Deputy Police Chief Michael McLaughlin said in a joint statement.
Officials believe a Boston man driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck left the roadway and went over a guardrail while negotiating a curve. The truck landed in the river on its side, according to the statement.
Firefighters used a Stokes basket to rescue the man from the river. He was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the statemen
