The Song Is Over is a perfect title for the farewell tour by sixties classic rock legends the Who. Vancouver’s Rogers Arena hosted one of the few Canadian dates on The Song Is Over — North American Farewell Tour date by the band last night, showcasing a 22 song set that covered every key period in the band’s 60 year history.

The fifth tune on 1971s epic album Who’s Next, The Song Is Over was the second to last song of the show.

Performed by who’s left of the U.K. quartet — lead singer Roger Daltrey and lead guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend — and an extended backing band, the tune’s final lyric landed with real emotional impact.
