Byrd Barr Place, a cornerstone of community empowerment in Seattle’s Central District, is proud to announce its annual fundraising gala, Legacy in Motion: Resistance Through Reclamation, taking place this Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Seattle.

This year’s event will feature nationally renowned civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, who will join Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown for a fireside chat exploring themes of resilience, advocacy, and reclaiming community voice.

Byrd Barr Place invites the community to join in a powerful evening of celebration, storytelling, and mobilization. Together, we resist being silenced, reclaim our narratives, and continue building a thriving, resilient community for generations to come.
