One man is charged and London police are investigating after they say dozens of people and more than 20 cars were spotted by an off-duty officer at what appeared to be an unsanctioned street-racing meetup.

London police say it was about 12:20 a.m. on Saturday when an off-duty officer spotted two BMWs moving at a high rate of speed in the area of Colonel Talbot Road near Orr Drive, a rural area south of Lambeth, police said.

The off-duty officer then found between 20 and 30 vehicles stopped side-by-side in the area of Colonel Talbot Road
