SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Mooringsport pleaded guilty to causing death and injury in a 2024 traffic collision in which he was under the influence.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, Scott Millis, 49, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and first-degree vehicular negligent injury related to a crash on North Market Street; his trial for this crime was set to begin on Monday. According to the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office, Millis was driving home from a local bar around 7 p.m. on January 11, 2024, without headlights when he struck another driver as she crossed the roadway.

Destiny Stewart, the driver, died as a result of the crash, and her passenger, J.L. Young, was seriously injured. Millis admitted to drinking four beers and five shots of vodka before getting on the road. B
