New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday quashed a National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) recruitment notification that prescribed “merit in CLAT (PG) score – 2022 onwards” as the sole criteria for engagement of Young Professionals (Legal) on contract basis.

In its detailed judgment, a Bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela ruled that the recruitment criteria had “no rational nexus” with the object of public employment and violated Articles 14 and 16 of the Constitution.
