LONDON, Ky. — The London Fire Department said it responded to a chemical release and explosion at the Borden Dairy Company on Wednesday morning.
LFD did not say when the explosion happened. The Borden plant is located on West Highway 80 in London.
LFD said the chemical involved was Hyperflex, which contains phosphoric acid and nitric acid. The department said the product is corrosive and can cause significant health effects with direct contact.
LFD said no life-threatening injuries have been reported. According to the London-Laurel Co. Economic Development Authority, four people at the plant were injured.
