HUNTINGTON — The Joan C. Edwards Playhouse became a courtroom Tuesday as some members of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia handled cases during a Court on Campus event.
During the event, Chief Justice William R. Wooten and Justices C. Haley Bunn, Charles S. Trump, Thomas H. Ewing and John Hutchison handled three cases in front of an audience of more than 200 Huntington High School, Cabell Midland High School and Marshall University students.
The Court on Campus program is offered in partnership with the John Deaver Drinko Academy and Simon Perry Center for Constitutional Democracy. This is the third year of Court on Campus, with the last visit being in 2023.
Ewing said the program is “an opportunity to get court out to the public” and to “interact with students on campus.”
