Five people were shot, and three of them died, on Sept. 23 in south Phoenix, according to police officials.
Officers responded to reported gunshots shortly after 9 p.m. in the area of 24th Street and Southern Avenue, where they found victims with gunshot wounds, Phoenix police said in a news release sent Sept. 24.
Police officials did not release the names or descriptions of the three people who died, except to say they were men. Two additional adults had gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, they said.
No further information about the shooting was available.
"Detectives are on scene and actively working this complex investigation," the news release stated.
