A man and a woman were shot in a car on a typically quiet Lower Mills side street on Monday night. The gunfire erupted on Temple Street around 10:53 p.m., according to a Boston Police report.

The victims were both hit in their legs and treated at the scene with tourniquets by responding officers before they were transported to Boston Medical Center along with a child, who was not injured. They were believed to be inside a Honda CRV that crashed into a utility pole with “significant ballistic damage, as well as blood from the incident.”

A person who allegedly matched the description of the shooter was arrested for trespassing on nearby Caddy Road, but a Boston Police spokesperson said the shooting itself remains under investigation.
