The New York Islanders could be without a crucial member of their lineup for the next couple of weeks.

Captain Anders Lee is expected to be out 1-2 weeks with an upper-body injury. Maxim Tsyplakov is also listed as day-to-day for maintenance reasons.

The Islanders announced the updates on Lee and Tsyplakov on Wednesday, after falling to the Devils in a 6-2 pre-season loss Tuesday night.

Lee scored 29 goals and added 25 assists for the Islanders last season. The Islanders project to have him back for the season opener.

The Islanders will kick off their season in Pittsburgh on Oct. 9.
