The Chattanooga Fire Department now has a few more tools in their lifesaving toolbox.

According to a Facebook post from the department, they have bought new struts and shoring equipment. Close

This gear will replace their old air shores for the lifting and stabilization of heavy objects that have collapsed or fallen on a building, car, or person.

CFD says this equipment adds to their current stock of Paratech Fire & Rescue Equipment for trench rescues.

"Our USAR and extrication instructors were trained on all of the new equipment this week and they’re ready to use all of it on various rescue calls," the post says.
