Construction of redundant line to cost $34M
In 2018, the city of Chandler dealt with a large water main break northeast of Price Road and the Loop 101 -Loop 202 freeway interchange. This water line was accessed, repaired and put back into service.
Findings from a subsequent water line assessment raised concerns about the large existing 66-inch sewer line that is adjacent to the water lines crossing under the freeway, according to a news release.
The Chandler City Council awarded construction and professional service contracts Sept.18 for a remedy in case such a similar problem happens with the sewer line in the years ahead, the release states.
Council approved a nearly $35 million contract with B&F Contracting Inc. for constructing a new 66-inch redundant (backup) sewer line located ne
