Scots are starting to get all too familiar with high street closures, especially where their local banks are concerned. And now, banking giant Lloyds has confirmed the closure of 49 branches, including those of Bank of Scotland. ‌

The high street lender also announced that it will be shutting down branches of Lloyds Bank and Halifax as part of a significant cost-cutting exercise. The closures were confirmed on Wednesday, September 24. ‌

Thirteen branches in Scotland are set to shutter. This is the latest wave of branch closures amid a shift towards online banking, leaving the bank with a total of 705 branches - 359 Lloyds, 269 Halifax and 77 Bank of Scotland. ‌
