A woman was arrested Wednesday after a 73-year-old man was found tied up and dead in a French Quarter hotel room the day before, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Feliciana Winniford, 38, was arrested at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Claiborne Avenue and booked into the Orleans Parish jail on a count of second-degree murder as part of the investigation into Tuesday's killing.

Police were called just after noon to the hotel in the 300 block of North Rampart Street, where the victim was found naked and tied to a bed in a trashed room, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

Police were spotted later that afternoon outside the Homewood Suites on Rampart.
