LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol announced it made 30 DUI arrests over the first three home Saturday’s of the Nebraska football season.
In a press release on Wednesday, the state patrol said six of those arrests occurred in Lancaster County in the hours surrounding a Husker football game.
During the first month of home games last season, troopers made 35 DUI arrests, including 10 DUI arrests in Lancaster County.
“Gameday safety is absolutely a team effort, and it starts on the road to the game,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “The vast majority of fans followed the safety game plan and drove sober. If alcohol is part of your gameday experience, use the off week to make the adjustment to designate a sober driver or make another plan
