Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer claimed he heard the Crimson Tide’s three annual opponents around the same time as everyone else.

“I saw the announcement on TV last night while I’m making recruiting calls and haven’t talked to a single person since,” DeBoer told reporters on the SEC’s weekly media teleconference on Wednesday.

The Crimson Tide wound up with two of its top rivalries preserved. UA drew Auburn and Tennessee, alongside Mississippi State.

Notably absent was LSU. That matchup, which has produced some of the SEC’s most anticipated games each season over the past few decades, picking up enormous steam during Nick Saban’s tenure, is relegated to non-yearly status.
