The Animal Rescue League of Iowa removed over 100 dogs from a property in Plymouth County in northwest Iowa on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
ARL officials arrived at the undisclosed property after receiving a tip from the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, where they found 111 dogs and puppies living in unsanitary conditions across two buildings, according to a news release from the ARL.
"The majority were living in the house in areas covered in urine and feces," the ARL said in the news release. "Tests taken at the scene showed ammonia levels in both structures were dangerously high.
All of the dogs were moved to emergency housing and all are now safe, according to the ARL.
