The Port of Corpus Christi experienced a boom in the value of goods exported through the port in the early 2020s. Though growth in that metric has leveled out, a new report from the Texas comptroller shows that oil and gas exports are still high.

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock, the state official responsible for the state's finances, visited the Port of Corpus Christi on Sept. 24 to discuss the report and the growth of the Texas economy.

Trade through the Port of Corpus Christi resulted in 864,000 jobs and contributed $113 billion to the state’s gross domestic product in 2024. In comparison, the larger Port of Houston saw $223.5 billion in trade value, contributing $171.1 billion to Texas’s GDP and creating 1.3 million jobs.
