Dozens of sailors from throughout the United States will compete for three days on the Jordanelle Reservoir in the U.S. Adult Sailing Championship, hosted by Park City Sailing Association.
It’s the first time in the event’s 73-year history that it’s been held in a mountain state, according to the association. Skippers applied to compete and were selected by the U.S. Adult Sailing Championship Committee.
Seeking the Clifford D. Mallory Trophy, the invited teams represent 10 states, evenly split from east and west of the Mississippi River. A skipper and crew of two or three will race in J/22 sailboats Friday-Sunday, supported by volunteers from Park City Sailing Association and elsewhere.
