East Erie County received a check for a new ambulance on Wednesday, with the goal of cutting down response times.

County Executive Brenton Davis awarded East County EMS a grant check of $150,000 toward a new ambulance worth $250,000.

The investment was made possible by an Erie County EMS transformational grant fund using gaming funds allotted to the county.

The check presentation will allow the EMS organization to fund a second ambulance for their fleet, and Dean Pepicello, president of Erie County EMS, said rest assured, the community can expect that a qualified crew is close by and will be there in a timely manner.
