What is the essence of a man in a good relationship? According to Tyler Lepley, who plays Boaz in the new film Ruth & Boaz, it’s being authentic, respectful and capable of unconditional love.

“Boaz is the opposite of where we’re at or where I see a lot of people at today. He’s not transactional or surface level,” Lepley shared with EBONY.

In the story, Boaz isn’t what Ruth expects at first. “He’s more than just what meets the eye. He wants to learn and know more about her; that definitely allows her to lower her guard a bit,” says Serayah McNeill, who plays Ruth.

“I think that that’s what love is about. We’re not always ready for it, and sometimes we’re a little apprehensive. But you don’t know where you’re gonna fall, so you just gotta jump in and let your guard down.”
