Detroit Lions safety Daniel Thomas underwent surgery to repair a broken forearm Wednesday.

Thomas was one of four players listed as a non-participant on the Lions ' estimated practice report two days after their Monday night win over the Baltimore Ravens .

Thomas, who joined the Lions after August roster cuts , has started at gunner on the punt team this year. His immediate availability is uncertain.

Left tackle Taylor Decker (shoulder), defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad (knee) and running back Sione Vaki (groin) also were listed as non-participants in practice, while linebacker Derrick Barnes (knee) was limited and cornerback D.J. Reed was listed as a full participant with cramping.
