LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Public Schools is currently considering subscribing to a new messaging app service to enhance school communications.

For the past 13 years, LPS has utilized SchoolMessenger for mass notifications. However, the district is now looking to change services to better suit the schools’ needs.

LPS looks to subscribe to Apptegy, a communications platform that delivers content via various channels including district websites, electronic newsletters, social media, two-way text messaging with students, athletes, activity participants, and caregivers and a district mobile app that consolidates all these outputs.

Unlike on-premise servers, Apptegy is cloud-based, ensuring communication services remain accessible even if the district’s internet connectivity is lost.
