MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Montgomery County Department of Police said a car crashed into a telephone pole, snapping it in half on Wednesday afternoon.

As of 4:45 p.m., Mt. Ephraim Road between Barnesville and Mouth of Monocacy roads remains closed as a result of the crash.

Officials said the telephone pole snapped in half, and wires fell, blocking the roadway.

Details remain limited, as officials have not given any word on whether anyone was hurt during the incident.

Drivers are asked to find alternate routes until further notice.
