RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) — Eligible Virginia taxpayers could receive up to $400 in rebates, Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced Wednesday.
Eligible taxpayers are those who had tax liability in 2024 and filed their taxes by Nov. 3, with individual filers eligible for a $200 rebate and joint filers eligible for a $400 rebate. Taxpayers can check their eligibility status beginning Thursday at tax.virginia.gov/rebate.
Taxpayers who are eligible and filed state taxes before July 1 will be sent rebates by Oct. 15 and will arrive by the end of October, the governor said. Those who received a state tax revund by direct deposit this year should get their rebate by direct deposit to the same bank account. All other eligible taxpayers will get their rebate by paper check in the mail.
