SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Students at Morningside University weren’t in class on Wednesday, but rather out in the community serving in different roles around Sioux City.

Omicron Delta Kappa hosted Morningside’s 19th annual Into the Streets on Wednesday.

Over 750 students and 75 faculty members volunteered at various organizations throughout the city, working in landscaping, serving breakfast to veterans, and assisting with a range of tasks that needed to be completed.

This year, student organizers aimed to highlight and honor first responders and healthcare workers in commemoration of 9/11.

Students took time to detail the inside of Sioux City Police squad cars.
