P3R, the organization behind the Pittsburgh Marathon, is once again teaming up with CitiParks to host the annual City of Pittsburgh Great Race, a weekend of events headlined by a 10K and 5K on Sunday.
The largely downhill course is nearly identical to last year’s routes through Squirrel Hill, Oakland, Uptown and Downtown, aside from the finish line shifting to Gateway Center from Point State Park due to ongoing construction.
Runners in the 10K will start at 9:30 a.m. on Beechwood Boulevard in Squirrel Hill, and 5K runners will start at 8 a.m. on Fifth Avenue in Oakland
There also will be a Junior Great Race held Downtown for children 12 and under on Saturday morning, featuring three events: A Family Fun Run for ages 5-12, a 50-yard “Tot Trot” for ages 4 and under, and a “Diaper Dash” fo
