Government workers laid off by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) can come back to work on Oct. 6.

Federal employees were given a deadline to accept or decline an offer to return to the office.

Earlier this year, DOGE laid off federal employees as part of an effort by the Trump administration to reduce fraud, waste, and abuse in the federal government.

The Trump administration is asking hundreds of federal employees who were laid off by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to return to work.

According to an internal memo obtained by the Associated Press, the General Services Administration is giving workers until the end of the week to accept or decline reinstatement.
