SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Stonewall man accused of raping and beating a child almost to death was indicted this week by a Caddo Parish grand jury.

The indictment of Lucas Logan, 31, is one of seven true bills returned by the panel. Two of those were filed against Logan.

He's not formally charged with first-degree rape, second-degree cruelty to juveniles, sexual battery and 16 counts of pornography involving juveniles.

Caddo Parish sheriff’s investigators said Logan was arrested on Aug. 2 after deputies responded to a call about the sexual assault of a child. They found a nearly lifeless six-year-old child in a home on Farmridge Road in Keithville.

The child’s injuries were described as life-threatening.
