WOODSTOCK, N.Y. – The town’s police force presented to the Town Board a “vision” for resolving Police Department problems, but the report avoided describing what those issues are.
A 35-page presentation on Tuesday, Sept. 23, outlined survey findings and the generic training police need but steered clear of naming the problems that have drawn angry residents to recent Town Board meetings.
“You can’t start with the history and then have a plan,” task force member Jeff DeLisio said.
Task force members insisted that controversial issues did not have to be mentioned because Town Board members are aware of what those problems are. However, they also said there was consideration of operational problems.
