KINGSTON, N.Y. — Mayor Steve Noble and the city’s housing chief have vowed to continue pushing for a plan for a proposed housing non-profit focused on mixed-income developments after the Common Council’s Community Development and Housing Committee declined to endorse the plan on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
“It is my intention to pursue this; we need housing,” Bartek Starodaj, the city’s Director of Housing Initiatives, said. “The original plan was to pass a memorializing resolution. If the committee doesn’t feel comfortable, we’ll continue to pursue this model and at some point come back to the council.”
This stance was shared by Mayor Steve Noble in an email on Wednesday when asked for comment.
