SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Following the first of several town hall meetings hosted by the South Bend Community School Corporation, the man behind “Plan C” made a surprise announcement on Tuesday — that he’s now walking away from the reconfiguration plan .

“I’ve probably gone too far as it is. I’m stopping. But I do want to listen to people in the audience, and that’s the reason why we really have these meetings,” said SBCSC Board Member Mark Costello to town hall attendees at Darden Elementary.

“Plan C” would have kept kids in elementary school through sixth grade while seventh and eighth graders would be in a separate school.
