ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) — Summer is over, fall is here, and with that, Wisner Market in Elmira comes to a close. On the last day, organizers said they've seen success by moving the market from Thursdays to Wednesdays.
"I think the reception to the day change has been very good," said Marshall Ferrari, the Executive Director of Elmira Downtown Development. "A lot of new vendors, a lot of new faces, a lot of new people down here, and the attendance has been great, so we're excited about the changes and how everything's gone this year."
Elmira Downtown Development is the group that puts on Wisner Market. They said the reason for the move was because their market used to fall on the same day as the Corning Farmer's Market. Ferrari said the move gives guests and vendors more opportunities.
