SUMTER, S.C. — Several workers at the Sumter County Fair say they were shortchanged, and some claim the checks they received bounced.

The fair wrapped up its extended run last Sunday. But for some, the end of the event came with unexpected frustration over wages.

Two workers, who asked to remain anonymous, told News19 they did receive pay, but not the full amount they were promised. One of them said some workers didn’t get paid until days after the event ended, and even then, some checks didn’t go through.
