LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has reopened the Calks Ferry Road bridge over I-20 earlier than expected.

The bridge, which closed September 8 for maintenance, was originally expected to remain closed until October . Crews completed the work ahead of schedule, and the bridge reopened to traffic on September 23.

SCDOT said repairs included replacing joint materials, refreshing bearings, and sealing cracks to keep moisture out of the concrete.
