SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Kelly McCune has had a career of caring for others.

“I’ve been around elderly people all my life. I didn’t go to college. And didn’t have a degree in anything. And I guess you can not have a degree in caring. You can not teach caring. And I guess that’s what I did,” said Kelly.

Kelly grew up in this small town and started working as a certified nursing assistant in the Good Samaritan Society-De Smet nursing home when she was in high school.

“I was working as a waitress. And I was making fifty-five cents an hour. And my friends were working here. So I applied, and they hired me two days before my sixteenth birthday,” said Kelly.

Fifty years later, she’s still doing that CNA job, in the same place.
