For Emma Watson , making movies didn’t always come with perks.

The Harry Potter star admitted that her formative experience as a child actor on set of the fantasy franchise—which consisted of eight movies released between 2001 and 2011—gave her unrealistic expectations as she worked on other projects as an adult.

“It's so unusual to make a set of films for 12 years,” she told Jay Shetty on the Sept. 24 episode of his On Purpose podcast. “We were a community, we really were. So I took that as an expectation into my other workplaces, and I got my ass kicked. I really did.”
