For decades, presidents have used the historic White House Rose Garden as the stage for outdoor ceremonies and events.
In Trump’s remake of the White House, the Rose Garden is now the Rose Garden Club, with the iconic lawn outside the Oval Office transformed into a taxpayer-supported imitation of the patio at Mar-a-Lago, the president’s private Florida resort.
President Trump has hosted private dinners here, featuring cabinet officials, a new stone patio, meals from the White House chef — and maybe even a playlist personally curated by Trump himself.
And good luck scoring an invite. So far, the guest list has been limited to Trump’s political allies, business execs, and administration staff.
