KION-TV, which serves Monterey, Salinas and Santa Cruz regions on California’s Central Coast, announced on its website that it would no longer produce its own local newscasts. Instead, it would partner with Bay Area CBS station KPIX to air its broadcasts, effective 5 p.m.
