The Dallas Cowboys lost star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb early in the first quarter of their blowout 31-14 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Footage showed his ankle being bent in a way that ankles aren’t meant to go.
What makes it worse is that he took a rare handoff in the backfield and broke for the right sideline, but Noah Sewell rolled up on his left ankle as he was tackled. Something he usually never does has now cost him.
Lamb reportedly sustained a high ankle sprain on the play. According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys did not place him on injured reserve, but he is expected to miss three to four weeks recovering.
