A Wilmington man is facing his fifth DUI charge following a traffic stop on Route 13 in the Cheswold area early Wednesday.

Delaware State Police said the driver was pulled over after a trooper saw him swerving and traveling at a low rate of speed. The trooper smelled alcohol, and an open bottle of liquor was in plain view on the front passenger seat.

According to State Police, 69-year-old Paul Fox was taken into custody after being given field sobriety tests and was found to have four previous DUI-related convictions.

Fox was being held on an "intoxication hold" pending arraignment. He is charged with 5th-offense DUI (felony) and failure to obey a traffic control device.
