An injury to Oklahoma’s star quarterback has his playing status in jeopardy moving forward.

John Mateer, Oklahoma football’s quarterback, will undergo surgery Wednesday to address a right-hand injury to his thumb he sustained in the first quarter of Oklahoma’s 24-17 win Saturday over Auburn, according to a press release from the team Tuesday. ×
